Slovenská sporitel‘na, a. s., is a commercial bank engaged in banking and financial business activity providing bank services characteristic for modern international banks and is one of the most important financial institutions in Slovakia. It administers over 30 percent of retail deposits and over 20 percent of total deposits in the Slovak Republic. The retail network of the bank consists of 300 branches and 10 commercial centers covering the entire territory of the Slovak Republic. In line with the decision of the Government of the Slovak Republic on December 20, 2000, Erste Bank has become the majority owner of of Slovenská sporitel‘na, sinces January 2005, Erste Bank is a 100 percent owner.

Slovenská sporitel‘na (Erste Bank)Antivirus, AntispywareThe challengeTo modernise the security systems of the whole company, especially web communication, as well as to guarantee the high availability of all services, Slovenská sporiteľňa decided to implement new technologies and tools for data protection. As partner for the project S&T Slovakia was chosen, known as one of the most reliable IT solutions and services provider in Slovakia. The new security systems will prevent unauthorized access and a higher level of competitiveness.The projectS&T Slovakia installed the solution “Interscan Web Security Suite”, which is the powerful comprehensive web-threat antivirus protection available and combined it with a dynamic real-time spyware, grayware and phishing blocking. The solution filters HTTP and FTP traffic to block viruses, Trojans, and worms hidden in Web pages and Web-based email. Further on it blocks unwanted Web content, Java code and Active X applets. Updates are immediately delivered to the database, which guarantees most reliable, up-to-the-minute protection. A new system monitoring dashboard provides a real-time snapshot of malware activity as well as CPU, memory, hard disk, and bandwith usage.Benefit for the customer
