Sattler AG

S&T renews IT infrastructure

Sattler AG, founded in 1875, is one of the top European producers of technical textiles and is the leading provider of sun protection fabrics worldwide. The company has around 600 employees and, besides its head office in Graz-Thondorf, has two further production plants, one in Rudersdorf in Burgenland and one in Greven in North Rhine-Westphalia. Sattler produces over 20 million square meters of fabric for the world market per year.

The challenge

In order to be optimally equipped for SAP migration, Sattler chose S&T to completely renew its IT infrastructure and to ensure that the system was failsafe. S&T Austria successfully renewed Sattler’s server infrastructure two years ago and, as Sattler was very happy with the result, the company decided to collaborate with S&T Austria again.

The project

During the course of the project, SAP was migrated to HP BladeSystem C-Class. The project also encompassed the equipping and installation of a main computer center together with fail-safe computer centers at various locations and two mirrored storage systems. In addition, production and fail-safe storage processes were planned and implemented.

For its SAP operations, Sattler relies on HP BladeSystem C-Class, which serves as the basis for cost-effective expansions. S&T Austria installed nine new servers and set up the necessary clusters. The storage system was then configured and upgraded. In addition, S&T Austria is taking over maintenance of the servers and storage systems with a 24/7 contract.
