S&T recently announced its increased focus on issues such as IT security, compliance, and convergent networks for 2007. The InfoSecWeek in May is a first outcome of this initiative. Organised by S&T Croatia, its core theme is information security management and consulting in this area. The event comprises a conference, numerous excellent workshops, and an exhibition on information security, all spread out over five days. The programme also includes several highly regarded international speakers, whom you would normally see in London or San Francisco. In addition to the information exchange, conference networking will also be one of the main activities. 'We are not just concerned with completing client projects in a professional way. We also want to continue to develop IT security on a proactive basis and reinforce ourselves as a catalyst in this area for our home market. Due to the exciting programme, InfoSecWeek in Zagreb will attract many clients and other interested parties from all over Central and Eastern Europe,' says Christian Rosner, CEO of S&T.

Wide Range of Topics
The InfoSecWeek programme concentrates on four major topic areas: compliance, high availability systems, security management, and network security. There will be presentations on Basel II, SOX, service oriented architecture, server virtualisation, storage, risk management, and business continuity planning. In addition, sessions are also planned for such areas as outsourcing network security, disaster recovery management, forensics, and anti-virus protection. Finally, all four major topic areas will end with a round-table discussion.

International Guest Speakers
All the various topics will be presented by experienced specialists of a high standard within the information security community, e.g. Vince Gallo, well-known developer of cryptographic software and hardware, and co-founder of Inforenz Ltd., a company specialising in the development of forensics solutions. Andrew S. Townley, manager and technical architect with BearingPoint Ireland, will also give a talk in Zagreb. His company is in charge of the 'Irish Government’s Public Services Broker' project. John Sherwood, current Director of idRisk Ltd., was one of the leading lights participating in the development of the SABSA® method (Sherwood Applied Business Security Architecture). He worked as an advisor to the Deutsche Bank and Barclays Bank on IT security related matters and has many years of practical experience in risk management. Jorge Sebastiao will also be there, a leading expert on information security and internationally known as the founder and CEO of ESGulf.
