S&T Austria replaces KABEG server landscapeBiggest HP C blade virtualisation project in Austria: 59 servers - virtualisation, upgrade and maintenanceInstallation, configuration, upgrade, maintenance 59 servers (57 in Klagenfurt, two in Wolfsberg) will be installed by S&T Austria in the first phase, which is already under way. Then comes roll-out of the VM-ware using HP’s Rapid Deployment tool, migrating and consolidating strategic platforms such as Exchange, SQL, Citrix, File and Print Services, SMS etc to the new hardware. The new System Center Configuration Manager 2007 (formerly SMS v4) will be installed for PC deployment and the installation roadmap. This will form the strategic platform for all devices, for rolling out software and/or patches in a structured manner and for maintaining current status. The innovative project will be completed at the end of June 2007. For the next five years S&T Austria will take over hardware maintenance and maintenance of the Microsoft platforms. “We are delighted to be able to plan and execute the largest HP C-class blade server project ever carried out in Austria for KABEG. This is one of the biggest C-class blade server projects yet in Austria. More and more businesses are switching to this system to cut costs and improve flexibility. We can offer specially trained staff, years of experience in complex IT infrastructures and the necessary migration skills of one of Austria’s biggest IT services providers with an international background,” explains Georg Komornyik, CEO of S&T Austria. |
