S&T showcases its company credentials at the VMware Symposium 2007 in Prague
S&T is the leading VMware specialist in the CEE

The S&T corporate group will be represented with two booths at once – one for the company itself and one in cooperation with Cognos – at the VMware Symposium 2007, which takes place in the Top Hotel Prague on May 17th. S&T is the leading VMware specialist in Central and Eastern Europe. This is why it will present its expertise in the areas of server virtualisation, disaster recovery planning and business continuity. The virtualisation of server and network infrastructure has developed from a hot topic into a dynamic growth market over the last few years. In Europe, only 1/3 of companies are using virtualised systems – with a strong growth trend. The reasons are obvious: increasing costs for computing centres and their operation, high expenses for energy and cooling as well as the need to be able to adjust the IT infrastructure to changed requirements more quickly and more flexibly. According to a study by VMware, carried out with more than 1,800 customers in 2006, cost savings for hardware acquisition and energy of at least 30% are feasible, while simultaneously employee productivity can be increased by 30% and preparation times for servers can be reduced by 40%. The server utilisation can be increased from the commonly typical 20% to up to 90%. “The VMware Symposium in Prague is the perfect context to present our service spectrum in this area to interested customers, to provide detailed information about detailed topics and to discuss individual requirements,” Christian Rosner, CEO of S&T AG, explains.
Virtualisation and Business ContinuityS&T has prepared an attractive program for participants in the VMware Symposium in Prague. Aside from virtualisation, the subjects covered include disaster recovery planning and business continuity as well as, in collaboration with business intelligence specialists Cognos, more specialised topics like the SAP implementation on VMware platforms. In the subject area of virtualisation, S&T also offers, in addition to consulting, the realisation of national and international projects.
