S&T modernises IT infrastructure
As a part of E.ON Energie AG, E.ON Bulgaria has been involved with regional Bulgarian providers Varna and Gorna Oryahovitsa since the 67% takeover in February 2005. In the beginning of 2006, the company transferred 8% of its shares in both companies to EBRD. Together, E.ON Bulgaria and EBRD service have more than 1.1 million clients in the north-east of the country, supply almost 4.9 TWh of energy, and have a market share of approx. 25%. Parent company E.ON is the world largest private energy supplier with a turnover in excess of € 56 billion and has about 80,000 staff worldwide. With the market liberalisation starting in Bulgaria from January 2007 onwards, E.ON Bulgaria has even more opportunities for growth. Experts anticipate that E.ON Bulgaria will become the leading private energy supplier in Bulgaria.
S&T Bulgaria is modernising the IT infrastructure of E.ON Bulgaria. The project has begun in April 2005 and currently involves 11 regional branches of the wholly- owned subsidiary of E.ON Energie AG.
Not only does S&T Bulgaria advise and support E.ON Bulgaria in relation to system administration, it has also supplied and installed more than 1,000 computers, 50 servers, and a large number of printers since the start of the project. In addition, S&T also implemented network and security systems in 11 regional branches of E.ON Bulgaria and is responsible for the service and maintenance of its IT infrastructure and replacement of IT equipment.
