S&T wins major order from Ukraine's largest mobile communications provider

The S&T solution supports Kyivstar's continuing growth

The rapid increase in the number of customers is scratching at the limits of the existing IT infrastructure and as a result, expensive failures can occur, especially during the most important and also most complicated process, namely the timely preparation of millions of telephone bills. In order to prevent this, S&T is supplying solutions designed to protect and ensure the rapid availability of data. S&T was awarded the contract due to its successful solutions-specific co-operation with Kyivstar in the past.

One challenge presented by the project was to combine the new storage system with the existing one, which had also been implemented by S&T. The two centres are located approximately 10 km away from one another. The core product of the solution is a DMX2000 Double Bay Storage-System from EMC, the first ever to be used in Ukraine. It has been agreed that details of the order volume will be kept confidential.

"This new order from a long standing customer clearly demonstrates S&T's sustained solutions competence also in challenging markets. As one can infer from statements made by the newly elected president, the Ukrainian economy is to be opened up and foreign direct investment encouraged. We therefore expect a further powerful impetus for S&T's business in the near future," says Karl Tantscher, CEO of S&T.
