S&T wins large EU-funded order in PolandThe Polish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Labour wants to win the battle against high unemployment with IT solutions from S&TThe implementation of a standardised and integrated IT system will make it easier to find local, national and international vacancies at greater speed and will also improve the quality and effectiveness of the work carried out by the administrative apparatus, the efficiency with which resources are used and also the verification of the data input. The project will largely be funded by the European Union (PHARE 2002) with Polish co-financing. It has been agreed that no details will be released concerning the volume of the order. The project includes a database for a nationwide labour market monitoring system and a web portal for the employment office as well as Internet access for job centres throughout Poland which do not yet have Internet access. The employment office in Poland includes the Ministry for Economic Affairs and Labour as well as job centres in 16 provinces and 338 municipalities. Once this project has been implemented these centres will have access to the database and the portal. The offer proposed by the S&T led consortium received 97.3 out of 100 possible points for its technical solution. The project is to be implemented by May 2005. S&T Group employs 1300 people, 140 of them in Poland. |
