Medico Uno chooses S&T to deliver hosted SAP ERP solution

When S&T’s CEE coverage matches client’s CEE growth strategy – it’s a clear win-win situation.
Medico Uno is engaged in trading and marketing of pharmaceutical products since 1996. After years of growth the company extended its operation by opening additional subsidiaries in Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, Romania, while also started to serve markets in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Montenegro and Czech Republic. The strategic growth plan includes entering further CEE countries. The group supplies both prescription/non-prescription medicines as well as health and wellness products, both own label products and leading brands.

As Medico Uno started to work in diverse regulatory and business environments (inside and outside of EU) the legacy ERP software could not support the complexity of needs. After evaluating all leading ERP vendors, SAP was selected as the best fit to support the growing operations. From several competing SAP partners, S&T Consulting Hungary was chosen as the implementing partner. The solution will be based on standard SAP Business All-in-One ERP solution, but also including an important custom functionality and custom-developed interface to an external warehouse management software. S&T’s Outsourcing Center in Zilina, Slovakia will provide hosted IT environment and continuous managed services for the ERP solution, that will serve Medico Uno group’s 8 companies in 5 countries. The go-live date is January 1, 2011.

Thanks to the unified SAP solution for the whole Medico Uno group, operational efficiency will be enhanced, customers will be better served, delivery times shortened, while the stock level requirements could be decreased. The management will have an immediate and clear overview of business performance, allowing better control. S&T regional CEE focus guarantees that the implemented solution will be fully supported also when Medico Uno decides to further extend its geographical coverage.
