S&T Opens Five Competence CentresFurther industry competence centres are plannedCompetence Centre IBM Tivoli in Ljubljana, Slovenia
Each Competence Centre comprises local and international employees who work together with cross-border teams on customer projects. "The degree of specialisation on the IT market is increasing continuously. The Competence Centres enable us to deliver services of the highest quality to our customers in all countries. The staff at the Competence Centres not only support the local teams, they also train them," explained Christian Rosner, CEO of S&T AG. Evaluation of new TechnologiesHowever, the Competence Centres are also responsible for evaluating new technologies. Given the rapid development of new products, many companies find they lack the time and personnel capacity to study them in detail. S&T tests products to see how they meet specific customer requirements and provides personalised consulting to clients as they select technology. Moreover, the Competence Centres also serve as test platforms for complex projects such as server virtualisations or Information Lifecycle Management. According to Rosner, "ability to use a test system away from ones own operational systems represents a high added value for the customers."Industry Competence Centres PlannedOnce these five Competence Centres are up and running, S&T plans to open more. These will focus on specialised themes in the S&T focus industries, telecommunications, production/manufacturing and financial services. The S&T Group already possesses the necessary specific expertise in industry processes, and the planned competence centres will structure it more effectively and make it available to all customers in all countries. |
