S&T Wins Order from Andritz AGMore Efficient Monitoring will Provide Andritz with Improved Control over its IT SystemsOf crucial importance to Andritz was the sequence of implementation. It had to be ascertained in which departments monitoring, fault management and reporting had priority and which hardware, operating systems and applications had to be integrated. Thanks to the new monitoring tool, faults will in future be reported proactively and then remedied before they have an adverse impact on the central services. In addition, long-term analyses which also reveal performance bottlenecks are available to assist investment planning. An integrated expandable knowledge database accelerates fault diagnosis and repair. Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 (MOM) was used as it was the optimal tool for the project which was carried out in a lead time of only 3 months. MOM will soon be extended to additional levels, monitoring for example, security status, but also the automation tools and applications. “Together we managed to get all those in positions of responsibility around a single table and concentrated the information. This step required a great deal of time and effort, but it was vital for the success of the project,” said Harry Kohlbacher, Competence Centre Manager at Andritz. “With the implementation of the new monitoring tool S&T has succeeded in finding an optimal IT solution for the global corporation Andritz AG. This shows that S&T is one of the absolute top IT services providers both internationally and in the manufacturing industry,” said Christian Rosner, CEO of S&T AG. |
