S&T automates largest department store in GreeceThe CustomerAttica in Athens, Greece's largest department store, opened its doors on April 9, 2005. Attica represents an investment of EUR 25 million and covers 25,000 m2 on eight floors, employs more than 700 people and features more than 300 shop-in-shop outlets with everything from women's, men's and children's fashion, home furnishings and sportswear, accessories and cosmetics. The department store also offers a restaurant and a cafeteria. Management estimates that between 8,000 and 10,000 shoppers will visit the Attica department store each day (2.5 million shoppers per year) and sales are expected to exceed EUR 100 million within two years. The SolutionThe PoS (Point of Sales) solution was developed and implemented by S&T with customer convenience and ease of use in mind. It is also the first solution, which fully integrates credit card transactions without the need for separate hardware and network connections. An user-friendly analysis tool enables the store to improve its customer relationship management with directly access to customer buying patterns. Each of the 67 PoS stations is permanently connected with the ProfitRMS back office system, thus providing up-to-date information on current stock levels and sales for accounting, order and stock control purposes. Redundancy functions have been built in to avoid unplanned customer waiting times even in peak periods.Constantinos Lambropoulos, Managing Director of Attica said: "We are very pleased to have the well-known ProfitRMS system from S&T HELLAS. This modern IT system is extremely vital for the level of customer satisfaction we are looking for. Each PoS can offer all kind of services to our customers reducing the queues and allowing the cashier to interact with the customer in a friendly and pleasant way. Although the project was complex, S&T helped us to ensure that we were ready on time." |
