S&T awarded another large project by Macedonian fixed line and mobile operator

Makedonski Telekomunikacii, the national telecommunications provider in the fixed line segment in Macedonia, and its subsidiary the mobile operator Mobimak (both long-standing S&T customers) were looking for a joint new solution to consolidate group-wide storage in response to the rapid development of new technologies in recent years and the rising demands on their productive systems.

The decision to choose S&T's solution was significantly influenced by the leading role played by S&T on the Macedonian IT storage and back-up solutions market. Furthermore, S&T had already proven its expertise with the delivery of a similar solution to the two companies for which it also provides the support.

The solution developed by S&T offers the two companies a highly-scaleable modular system with which they will also be optimally prepared for the demands of the future. The storage system that was used is the flagship product of manufacturer EMC² and the technologically most advanced system for storage consolidation in the world.

The project comprises the delivery and installation of the hardware as well as the complete and transparent migration of existing data from the old to the new productive systems. Implementation will be completed by June 2006.
