S&T the Clear Number 1 in RomaniaIDC Confirms S&T's Leading Edge on the IT Services Market in RomaniaAccording to the IDC study, the main factors behind this market evolution are economic growth, the privatisation of large enterprises, and vertical market development. The Romanian IT services market is predicted to expand by an annual average of 16.8% over the next few years, eventually reaching $365.20 million in 2009. According to the study, the largest segment of the IT services market was systems integration, with the biggest investments being made by the industries targeted by S&T: telecommunications, financial services, government, utilities, logistics and distribution. "Over the last two years S&T Romania has consolidated its position in the region. This aspect is also reflected in the company's achievements on the IT services market in 2004", said Laurentiu Popescu, Branch Manager, IDC Romania. "It is also extremely encouraging that another local subsidiary of a prestigious international company has made a consistent contribution to the financial results of the group. This once more emphasizes the potential of the Romanian market and the ever-increasing interest of international companies in boosting their local operations," concluded Popescu. "The market trends revealed by the IDC study justify our confidence that the targets defined by S&T Romania are realistic and attainable. The process of compliance with international standards and regulations will compel Romanian companies to carefully select providers with proven expertise who are able to offer technological and operational alternatives tailored to the specific requirements of the vertical markets" said Dan Roman, General Manager - S&T Region South. "Our clear goal is to be one of the leading providers of IT solutions and services in every country where the S&T group does business. Romania and other S&T subsidiaries have shown that this can be done", said Christian Rosner, COO of S&T. |
