S&T wins EUR 7 million order from Ukraine's largest telecom provider

Strong growth in the Telco industry

S&T System Integration & Technology Distribution AG has won a major order from UkrTelecom, the leading national telecommunications and internet provider in Ukraine with more than 9.3 million subscribers covering 36% of the telecom market and 31 subsidiaries throughout the country.
To implement a standardized corporate IT system for all subsidiaries, the company requires a sophisticated data centre solution. One of the main factors behind the decision to award the contract to S&T was the IT solution provider's extensive experience in the field of storage and security solutions as well as S&T's know-how in the telecom industry and strong partnerships with the world's leading software and hardware suppliers.

The contract, worth more than EUR 7 million, includes software and hardware delivery, installation, implementation of the new services and user training. The project will be realized in four stages by October 2006. The new scalable and flexible IT solution provides UkrTelecom with full redundancy topology that can integrate services such as Microsoft's Exchange server functionality, Active Directory services, Public Key Infrastructure and a lot more at eight large data centres and will be available for more than 200,000 internal users.

Christian Rosner, CEO designate of S&T AG, emphasizes the benefits of the order: "IDC is predicting a growth rate of almost 15% for the telecom industry in Ukraine, over the next five years. This shows that we are on the right path with our strategy to focus on IT solutions for the telecom industry."

S&T has been active in Ukraine since 1993 and with more than 100 employees is the clear number one in the IT systems integration and solutions business. S&T has already realized various projects for UkrTelecom. S&T can also count other telecommunication companies such as Kyivstar, UMC and Astelit among its top clients in Ukraine.
